Mr. William Asiko

William AsikoWilliam Asiko is the Chief Executive Officer of The Investment Climate Facility for Africa (ICF), a donor funded, international development finance organization that works with African Governments to remove barriers to greater private sector investment in their countries. Until his appointment as CEO of ICF in May 2013, William was the President of The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation. His career with The Coca-Cola Company spanned nearly 20 years starting in 1995 as in house corporate attorney in Kenya. In this role, William held various positions in a number of countries including the United States, Morocco and the United Kingdom. He rose to the position of General Counsel for Africa in 2001 a position he held until 2007 when he was appointed Director of Public Affairs and Communications for Coca-Cola Africa & President of The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation based in Johannesburg, South Africa. William held both positions for 6 years until May 2013.

William currently serves on the boards of the Rotarians For Family Health & Aids Prevention, Inc. (RFHA) in Atlanta, USA; the African Leadership Academy in South Africa and the Discovery Channel’s foundation, the Discovery Learning Alliance in Washington DC, USA respectively. In 2010 William was appointed by the President of the Republic of Togo to the International Investment Advisory Council of Togo and in that capacity advises the Togolese Cabinet on investment and development matters. William has served on the boards of The Coca-Cola Juice Company of Kenya, The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Egypt and The Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Barcelona, Spain.

Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, William served 5 years as State Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General for Kenya and 2 years as a partner in the law firm of Hamilton Harrison & Mathews in Nairobi, Kenya. William earned a law degree from the University of Nairobi in 1987 and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in 2005 in the United States. He is a non-practicing member of the Kenya Bar.
